Dr. Lana L. Mamut was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, a former USSR republic. She was 13 years old when her family relocated to the United States, settling in Atlanta, Georgia. Two decades later she continues to reside in the beautiful state of Georgia with her husband Pavel and their son Benjamin.
In 1996 Dr. Mamut graduated Salutatorian of her class from Berkmar High in Lilburn, Georgia. While at Berkmar she had completed several internships at local dental practices, where she acquired her passion for dentistry.
Dr. Mamut completed her undergraduate studies at Oglethorpe University in 2000, receiving her B.S. in Biology with Magna Cum Laude honors. While at Oglethorpe she was recognized for numerous academic achievements that earned her Presidential Scholarship, Governor’s Scholarship, and seven Dean’s List placements.
Dr. Mamut received her D.M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 2004, graduating first in her class. She was chosen to become a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society for her scholastic achievements. In 2006 she completed ADA accredited hospital-based General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, with emphasis in oral implantology, intravenous (IV) and oral conscious sedation, and treatment of medically complex patients.
After completing her residency Dr. Mamut had the privilege to work with Dr. Edward Mills – a world-renowned authority in oral implantology and founder of Atlanta Institute for Advanced Education – at Atlanta Center for Restorative Dentistry, gaining invaluable experience in implant dentistry. In addition to her associate dentist duties Dr. Mamut had participated in several clinical sessions presented by Dr. Mills as part of MCG/AAID Maxi-Course comprehensive implant dentistry training program.
Prior to opening Family Dentistry of Forsyth in Summer of 2010, Dr. Mamut held an associate dentist position at Jones Bridge Dental Care in Alpharetta, Georgia with Dr. Leo Yelizarov. Dr. Mamut actively participates in community affairs, providing volunteer dental care for underprivileged patients during numerous Dentistry From The Heart and FREE Dentistry Day events.
Dr. Mamut strives to offer the finest dental care to her patients. She is an active member of American Dental Association (ADA), Georgia Dental Association (GDA), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). She is on track to achieve fellowship and mastership status in the AGD through continued dental education. In her spare time Dr. Mamut enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
